About the project

The single biggest water problem worldwide is scarcity. In much of the world, existing water supplies are insufficient to meet all of the urban, industrial, agricultural, and environmental demands. It is estimated that global water consumption will increase by the year 2025, and much of this water will have to be obtained from natural systems. This consumption increase will cause substantial additional depletion of river flows in many areas, with substantial environmental consequences.

Through this project all participants will develop their knowledge of the importance of water in today`s world. Each country involved in this project will make different contributions to look at this quintessential issue from different perspectives. In the end we intend to promote an awareness of the importance of water and a rational use of it. Our pupils have to learn how to take care of the environment they live in and how to find solutions to rationally use and preserve this vital element.
